4/1 Vickers Street, Parap NT
Nestled snugly within the heart of Parap, flanked by Indigenous art galleries and the vibrant Parap Village Saturday markets, Laneway Coffee emerges as an iconic NT destination. Co-founded by the visionary trio, Lisa Heames, and Danni and Adam Mann, Laneway Coffee emerged with a mission to revitalise the coffee scene and cultivate a sense of community cohesion. Established in 2014, it swiftly evolved into a local institution, a must-visit hub for Northern Territory visitors.
An emerald curtain of creeping vines adorns the cafe’s exterior, hinting at the verdant haven within. Inside, cascading leafy green plants embrace the ceiling, while rustic recycled timber tables and a grand old industrial light preside over the communal dining area, ingeniously fashioned from reclaimed railway sleepers. A testament to history, a feature wall of weathered bricks, once part of Darwin’s historical Vic Arcade, underscores the cafe’s commitment to heritage.
Beyond the brews, Laneway Coffee offers an eclectic menu, juxtaposing Australian classics with locally-inspired creations. Their signature eggs benedict boasts a twist, featuring a native pepper berry hollandaise, while their organic hand-crafted granola, adorned with toasted nuts, fresh local fruits and a dash of native cinnamon myrtle yoghurt, evokes the region’s essence.
With a spotlight on Indigenous and local ingredients, harking back to age-old traditions, Laneway’s menu evolves with the seasons, a melange of familiar favourites and innovative delights. This culinary symphony celebrates the cultural tapestry of the region, while bolstering local farmers and their sustainable practices.
The soul of Laneway Coffee rests in crafting indelible memories for friends, families, and even four-legged companions. Through culinary delights, exemplary coffee, and an unwavering commitment to inclusivity, Laneway has emerged as the quintessential gathering spot where both coffee enthusiasts and the community congregate, forging connections and relishing in a truly immersive dining affair.
