Blume Restaurant is tucked away in Boonah, a small Queensland country town in the heart of the Scenic Rim, just an hour’s drive from Brisbane. Blume sits comfortably within a charming 110-year-old building, which features the original pressed metal walls and ceiling, a timber floor, and a large void in the roof line, which allows soft light to fill the space.

The contemporary kitchen sits behind the dining room and sheer curtains provide a subtle visual of the chefs in action whilst allowing the aromas to drift throughout the space.

Culinary finesse, warm hospitality and a multi-sensory experience are the core of the restaurant’s ethos. Head Chef and owner, Jack Stuart, with a dedicated team of staff and family, has created an uncommon destination dining experience. From the produce-driven menu to the fresh flowers (from Aunt Jen up the road), which adorn every table, the hand-crafted ceramic ware, the paintings on the walls and the warm hospitality and creative genius of the sommeliers, Blume offers a confluence of sophistication and non-urban charm.

The food served expresses a dedication to exceptional produce, whether it be locally grown or sourced from further afield. All ingredients are treated with respect, and nothing is wasted. Anything surplus is fermented or pickled. The drinks list focuses on seasonality and quality artisan wine producers whilst also utilising what is grown in the kitchen garden and seasonal preserves. On occasion, during service, artist Uncle Ang makes an appearance, armed with his sketchbook and paints. Settled in at the bar, as diners are leaving, he presents them with their portrait. This simple gesture somehow encapsulates the experience of dining at Blume.
